Kick-Me-Votes

These days I've experienced a lot of those so called "kick-me-votes" which, as the name says, are called by players trying to kick themselves.

These votes are usually used to piss us, admins, off because we cancel all of those idiotic changemap votes etc...

Just recently I banned "a real darling..." for 3 days because he really did ask for it by calling the kick vote after complaining about me canceling a restart vote... (gonna adjust that to 1 soon)

Rota is there any way to make players unable to callvote kick themselves?

NO! Leave it right where it is! Extend it to a week maybe! I am playing too much and working too little, I should be at my whiteboard drawing drafts of programs, write code, hunt bugs in a programming language and not in Trem, and so onâ€¦

The reason why I called that vote is actually because I wanted to see if people went along with somebody trying to kick himself, this is, for the fun of it, and besides that it is very telling that someone considers being kicked more fun than actually playing, your almost pathological attitude of cancelling votes, if you got enough self-reflection, you wouldn't do it in the first place, I can't change it, the only thing I can really do is â€“ go. And that's exactly what I had in mind, what shall I say: I achieved it.

And â€“ I didn't piss off "us admins", I pissed off you.

Considering the untold number of times you pissed off people by your constant vote-cancelling, I consider this just an additional bonus.

Enjoy yourselves people, I for my part surely do.

PS: Sorry for the PN, I didn't realize you considered this important enough to actually open a thread about it.

I don't really see that kind of kick votes as a problem, though disallowing such votes wouldn't hurt either. That guy often complains about cancelvoting changemap/restart/draw votes late in the game, just ignore him.

TheMuffinMann: denying is possible only by recode some sources.

Iltavuo: problem is, that admin need to check, if really he kicking self or it is masked by some idiot. Another thing is that this vote is nonsense and blocking other votes.

Sometimes admin will not catch kick vote immediately and then he need to cancel it and then investigate what happen (from console, following player...). Then he will discover that vote was self-vote.

why not just pass vote it? you piss off the guy who wanted it and also piss off the guys who wanted him to stay or piss off the guys that wanted you to cancel it.

to me that's a win win thing. the guy gets what he wants and in the process you piss him off
instead of him pissing you off.
