Adding your own textures

How can I add my own textures to my own map.

In netradiant (almost same as GTK radiant)

Copy your textures to textures/somefolder/ in map pk3 or base directory.
Supported formats:
- Truevision TGA (.tga)
- JPEG (.jpg), must not be a progressive jpeg

I copied to base, but how do I put it in my map?

Textures in textures/somefolder/ would be in "somefolder" category in radiant's texture browser.
