OM is 750HP, Granger is 50~75HP
It certainly would make aliens a little more vulnerable; less spam and moar tactics (on how many grangers want to do it/get HP depleted)
But then it needs to be made so grangers can't die from "giving HP", otherwise granger dies, spawns, continues with full HP.

That's the idea. When a granger's HP would be less than the amount it gives to OM, its dance would simply do nothing.

I'd strongly recommend the variant that drains HPs from the dancing grangers. IMHO it is a lot better and requires more strategy.
The modified sources are at github - branch granger-dance-give. The diff against the vanilla GPP version is here.

(I could help patching the R-CZ sources, if needed. Also it'd be possible to upload the current R-CZ sources to github and make the modifications there.)
