RCZ Special Events?

There used to be something like this on Nalf's Server (or N7 server).

There would come special days/events when the server would be different (i.e. Low Gravity Weekend, TK Day, Clan Wars, etc.) it was really fun to have and I think we should try and something like it on RCZ too! (thought maybe not the Tk day...)

I want to hear everyone's opinions. What do you think - Good idea?

P.S. If you think its a good idea, post some of your own ideas on stuff we can have!

It is fun, but nobody checks this forum anyway.
And on one of the last public servers, it's not a good plan.

I'd love that!
idea:The granger day, the granger-dance day for example.
i have to cool ideas:
the birthday day. somebodys birthday? well aounce it in trem.the spoecial grants could be like XXXXXXXrules or get a special price.
The in memorial day. this is the day when we celebrate all the trem players who have died(in game) this would be celebrated twice every 2 years.
lol... there would be lots!(and i mean millions)of tombs...

Cool idea but as lancer said. Its kinda bad since RCZ is actually last server where u can get decent amount of players so... lets stick to dont annoy ppl.

Hm. Well you guys are right about it being the last regular server... How about we have that on my/iain's server?

I know some people just want normal Tremulous but there are still a lot that want something new (e.g. yalt's server)

If players want to play regular they go RCZ, if they want something different - go to RCZ's other server. We could name it FunCZ or something and make it have all the original RCZ mods and more... How does that sound?

But if there is going to be another server - several questions keep unanswered.

1: Who is going to host the server? - Because it NEEDS to be online 30 minutes before the event.

2: Where are the events made? Here or somewhere else? (I do have a facebook page with 55 members on it, as tremulous.net and rcz forums are "dead". Trem Comm Forum

3: Let's say we start with a Gravity Weekend - What date, maps and time (PLEASE NOTE: A UNIVERSAL TIME BECAUSE EVERYONE LIVES EVERYWHERE)

4: Who are the 'admins' or 'organisers' of such events, and on what time base would we hold events? (Like every 2 weeks/every month)

Firstly, since it'll be related to RCZ, why not have all the original admins?

The host.... I'm not sure exactly. We need someone who is consistantly active. Or what we could do is keep the server so that it never goes offline?

Anyone (trustworthy) who has the time to organise the events can do it. We could hold it twice a week i guess?

Maps - Any and all maps (except for if the event is map specified). Date - Event specified. Also we could post on Facebook/Forum/Original RCZ Server to let players know its running. Time - +0GMT..? Of course this is dependant that players actually know their GMT time.

I will but this'll have to until 1. Finish my exams on 13th June and 2. Get Iain to put the server up (he's busy too).

I just wanted to get everyone's opinions on it

Idk if this rly going to happen. "We" don't have so many players to split to two servers. Maybe at best time this could work for like 2 hours a day where there's about 30 ppl online but most of the time it will just cause boredom on both servers coz there will be like 8 players each :/ .
I like the idea but sad fact may be that it wont work at all

Someone suggested making FANG server into a Training server (along with the Special Events?). Comments?
