Same id file on different PC's?

#1 Post by Quarko » Fri Jul 03, 2009 7:48 am

Hi,
I have few question about that mysterious id file:
1) How is it called? qid, quakeid, tremid etc?
2) How is it called in the system (the filename)? And where can it be found?
3) Can it be used on different computers (not simultaneously)?

Thanks in advance.

It's called GUID, filename is "qkey".
It's in: "C:\Documents and Settings\Spectre\Local Settings\Data applications\Tremulous\base" in windows XP, this is different in Vista / W7. It can be on more computers, just copy the qkey file. I have the same GUID on notebook and desktop.

But don't share your GUID anywhere!

I just had a thought that it could somehow intervene with IP's.

Thanks a lot.
