we made this really cool stepy thingy in less the 30 mins... WITH 3 GRANGERS WORKING FULL FORCE!

Let me explain this ironic joke to you:
The joke is in the fact, that so much buildings load GPU a lot (fps becomes 5-10). By saying that my GPU smokes when I see the screenshots I am intending to point out the fact that the building count is so high, that GPU is smoking even when watching a screenshot of so many buildings - which in reality can not be true, exactly why it's called an irony.

Well, if we look into this question from the philosophical point of view, GPU means "Graphics Processing Unit". If your CPU is processing graphics, it is actually a GPU too
