bad zoning tends to cause that, mostly a map issue (and Q3 being an old fart)

I'm playing on an IGP (Intel HD 3000) and I rarely experience FPS drops or lags. It seems that there's something wrong with your computer, imp.

Maybe it's a software-related problem?

Windows (especially XP) has the tendency to fuck up over time for no apparent reason (with the only solution being re-installing the whole system).

Linux has that tendency too (mostly drivers and the graphical environment) but at least issues there can be investigated and fixed.

I might be of more help if you specify your OS.

Might be a network issue. I remember having to quit playing UT2K4 online due to bad routing. Switching ISP fixed it.
