Yes, but my point was that "Linux" is the name of the OS. And "Linux Kernel" is the name of kernel it's built around.

Let's see… “Debian GNU/Linuxâ€￾. :P

Strictly, Linux is the kernel, and the OS is (often) GNU/Linux. But you describe the common usage sufficiently accurately.
