Mouse problems

Just realized how gay my mouse is when i 1vs1'd with VAL, so wanted to ask does anyone know how to tweak it with some software. The problem is not in sensibility, but when i stop moving the cursor, it goes bit further and sharply stops. Not sure if there really is a delay, but it just seems weird and sketchy. I can fix the problem by turning sensibility lower, but then its just too slow for my taste :/

I think, and I could be very wrong here, that the problem may be you've got "mouseacceleration" set up too high.
Could be wrong, of course.

In q3 times there were 3 settings to play with:

1. mouse acceleration settings from windows (control panel>mouse)

2. mouse sensitivity from options

3. /cl_mouseaccel or mb cg_mouseaccel

Quake 3's mouse acceleration 'boosts' the rotation, making it much faster when moving mouse rapidly, but leaving the sensitivity unchanged, when mouse is moved slowly. It does not produce any kind of delays.

m_filter smooths the rotation, by interpolating the speed with the speed calculated last frame. This one does create a delay, but it should not be bigger than 1/60 of a second.

My guess is, either your mouse or your drivers (or their configuration) are screwed.
when i 1vs1'd with VAL
It's also possible that VAL hacked your computer remotely so he could win the 1vs1.

Gonna get OFFTOPIC on that: Don't you dare insult linux, both win and os x can go SMD, linux is coming to Steam soon, and even Gabe said Win 8 will be a dissapointment.

It's different, that's all. I used to work (2009) on some orange looking linux (ver 9 or 10 or 11, it has every release named that orenge one was a bird I think) and it was smooth while running voip, excel, multiple tabs in firefox, youtube or other mp3 player and all that was on around 500Mhz with 512 ram.

On a sidenote: do not install or upgrade to Opera 12.00. By far its the worst release since Internet Explorer 3.0. 20 generic pages opened and it eats 1,2 gb memory.

And no, Firefox/chrome is not the best.
