I made a small patch, if you're interested: If a basilisk gasses a human, it gets a portion of the reward when other aliens damage that human. (The amount is configurable.) For example, if a basilisk gasses a human and rants kill the human while gassed, the basilisk gets 30% of the evos reward. This makes basi gas a bit more useful and playable, as basis are rewarded for help other aliens in combat this way. I believe humans will appreciate it .

We should get this and the headshit GFX/SFX patches into UBP.

Only small portion; we don't want a basi running through a corridor gassing all humans and getting 30% of the kills.

Em...my first thought was 30% was too high as well...

Yes, it's there, I just didn't update the changelog.

I fear that many aliens will go to basi, then will gass bunch of humans and only wait for evos.

But similar feature is already in trem (not sure if for gas too).

Gassing alone doesn't give any evos. Only if the human is damaged by another alien, and then the evo reward is split between the big alien and the basi. So no additional evos are gained, only the basi gets a part of them. If everybody goes basilisks then no matter how much they gas, they'll get no evos .

No, but it's a good idea. I could drain granger evos as a punishment for engagning into combat.

No. Grangers spit small spiky blobs of fluid.

Reading that as “spit at a humanâ€￾ – that's possible since spit does a small amount of damage (and can carry poison).

I mean that if a granger spits on a human a couple times, and then the human gets run over by a rant, will the granger get anything?

Point being: basi-gas doesn't even touch anything. All it does is make you "woozy" and slightly slow you down. Granger spit actually carries damage and poison. Why should basi get evos for no contact on anything at all? It just makes all the little red lights of logic go off in my mind.

First, I knew what you meant by evos for grangers. But feeding battle grangers are evil that should be punished, not promoted by giving them evos. That would granger feeding even worse than it is now.

Yes, basi-gas doesn't do any harm. But it makes the victim much more vulnerable - cannot aim properly and is slow. It helps other aliens a lot. So if they kill the human, the basi has contributed significantly by gassing him.
