I remember when I was a common-windows-user and was going to try out linux for the first time. Then I found somewhere on some forum that "gentoo is most customizable linux!!111eleven" so I decided to start with it.
At saturday morning I printed the 'installation' manual, and burned the CD with minimal version of it.
At next-saturday morning I woke up, checked up how was 'emerge kde' going and realized being an advanced-linux-user with gentoo installed from stage1 (it was there then).
During that 1 week of gentoo installation I found out like 20 times more than I was tought about linux during half year course in university.
Including:
- RTFM-ing like a PRO (crucial part of gentoo-therapy)
Configuring and running console IRC client
Cross-emerging stuff over the network (was trying to emerge stuff on 400+ Mhz PC making a more powerful 1000+ Mhz PC help him over the net via the LiveCD)
Configuring SSH, VNC, FTP servers.
Configuring alsa (omfg, still having nightmares about alsa).
Understanding linux stuff (daemons, file structure, partitions, etc etc etc...)
Compiling stuff from command line
Lots of other crap.
TL/DR: I agree, gentoo-therapy would be useful for him

You know, there is a joke that refers to your problem:
And the simple answer to your question: NO. There are no such tools. Do it manually.Max: I guess in the future programming will be like talking. You say to the computer what kind of program do you want and it generates the code for it. I wonder if there are some similar things today?
Tom: Hell yeah, I'm using such thing right now.
Max: WTF?
Tom: It is called 'IT Team'

for compiling you need...a compiler. in tremulous case you need mingw for win and gcc for linux(i think it can work in mac too). just gather all libraries(dll,so) what needs to tremulous.still anyone know any software for it ...
