I use both Windows 7 and Ubuntu 11.04 (After some long, hard tweaks to make it work with my laptop >_<)

Guys... After/if you get yourself a job with computers, you will find out the one and only truth: OS does not matter at all. It's all about the software that runs on it that matters. The whole day I'm using about 10 applications that work both on linux and on windows flawlesly and I do not give a f* about what OS are they running on.

Linux is better then Windows, but not the best OS in world.

But installing and updating apps in Windows too complicated. Also Windows got terrible windows manager (or desktop environment).
But Windows have better hardware support and games support then Linux.

To install a new application on our PC's we have a common procedure independent on the desktop OS: Write admin a letter explaining what app and how soon do you need. Then, when it is comfortable for you (usually during lunch time) admin comes and installs all you need. So it is even better than "sudo apt-get"!

But if you an admin?
And if admin are lazy? Say "sudo" to admin! It would help to force admin to do his job!

Linux is kernel, Mach is kernel. GNU/Linux(the official name) - is the OS.
But Windows have better hardware support
Windows had more drives than Linux. On Linux you almost always dont need to download(and install) drivers.

Wikipedia wrote: The name "Linux" comes from the Linux kernel, originally written in 1991 by Linus Torvalds. The main supporting user space system tools and libraries from the GNU Project (announced in 1983 by Richard Stallman) are the basis for the Free Software Foundation's preferred name GNU/Linux.
