Banned?

#1 Post by mystache » Tue Nov 27, 2012 9:39 am

Apparently I was banned by [{USATREM}] !Gunther! for a 'basekill', but the last time I played on the RCZ UBP server nothing bad happened and I finished the game and disconnected, while the next day I try to connect and see that I am banned. Does anyone know the why and how concerning my ban?

[EDIT] I record demos of every game I play, so if the admin who banned me can say when he banned me, I can dig up the demo.

If that's true than it might have been the case of mistaken identity.

Ah, you played under a different name for that game: "canon".

If you are who I think you are then gunther probably adjustbanned you after I kicked you. The reason actually should have been "Attempted basekill" but considering the fact that you were sawing through the RC I missed off the front. Before you start saying it was an accident, you don't accidentally saw your way through a building and you managed to take it down from full health to just over 200.

By all means post a demo: It would be 20121126 and would be for rotcanon b11.

EDIT: The 'missed off the front' was an accident, I was just in a bit of a rush to type it in

Thanks Ian, for clearing up as to why he was kicked.

I adjusted.
Why?
Simple:
If he was kicked wrong, someone would have reported it. I've been a level 6 before, and I know what it's like when you can only kick someone for 30 minutes. So as a precautionary measure, I only bumped it up to 5 days instead of 7 or 10.

How do I keep demos from that rotcannon map from crashing when trying to (i assume) fire one of the cannons? There's not much to see the first 20seconds of the game.

Unless you have demo specific binds every button you press will cause the demo to end.

If you want to fast forward, open console and type /timescale 2 (you can increase the number for faster forward) and when you get to the point you want type /timescale 1. Remember that you have to open the console to type those in.

I had this problem too.

Move to trash most.. (all?) pk3 files. Then it will redownload and use the correct ones.

The problem is that this server, RCZ UBP, actually has other base game files/mods, but uses same game name 'gpp' causing conflicts if you also visit other servers sometimes.

Maybe we really should change the gamename, if we figure out how to provide fast separate server to handle the uploads of files to everyone.

I'm on Windows8 and this is too much of a hassle. I'll let you live with the idea that you marked an innocent man.

You said that you had a demo. Now its "too much of a hassle" to post it here.

The hassle is not posting the demo here, the hassle is being able to actually watch the demo locally. There have been several games on that map on the 26th, so it takes watching the demos to know what happened in which game.

Just delete all crap not related to RCZ, then go back and connect to the sever to make sure you have all files. If you've ever been to the "Creep Colony" server, that really messes up my game. Also, if you have mods, move them to a seperate folder.

If the problem persists, take two aspirin, downgrade back to Windows 7, and repost.

I hear that, from Windows 8, that would be an upgrade…
Oh look. Killed again. Back to the tent…
