He did not lack mapdevel skill. Your trem client failing and you can solve it.

But what about random noobs that can't?
Then server looses players for map their clients can't normally handle.

Yeap arrogant attitude of service providers (yeap, even free) works well.

Users came here to play games. Then can be patching own linux / developing kernel like me and still do not want to build shit, because if I want to that shit I might as well go back to work.

Other point,
- me
- Merry
- Best Looking Spark
- and unknown of number of people more
do not care enough to do it.

Since upgraded GPP is not even official, this is not the case of "IE 6 is 10 years old, do not use it nooobs". Its not 10 years and there is nothing new official, also users do not care.

This is why it should be map developer responsibility to create map that just works without being pain in the ass.

This or make new official trem, get it to tremulous.org, get server to warn that you need to update client and yea then it will be objectively the player's problem instead.

Well there is some truth in that :)

but on the other hand Rota is wrong here: I think total noobs SHOULD use linux because they will not break it with shit and Trojans antiviruses can't catch up to every 2 weeks.

Also, Im quite sure Merry, me and Sparky can totally do it. We can also go do our taxes or pick up dog droppings after neighbors dog but it's in PLAY time some of us want 0 problems like this :)

While some of us can recompile a client, maybe some can't. Saying yalt is incompetent map maker is false; from what I've seen of the 2 screenshots of the map it looks awesome.
Easy fix: Remove what's causing max_patch_planes error, or use different textures/shaders or whatever->go crazy on everything else and make map 60MB of high-rez fog and crap. Seen 60MB high-rez maps before and they live on. If maps wants to get played most times, it needs to be playable by the average Joe.

I use windows, and haven't had a virus in years, not that I know of anyway. Windows defender is enough. If I try to use linux I break it quite fast. It requires a lot of learning, like windows did too but most are allready familiar with windows.

Map works here. Nice changes overall and it's feels good to have the sidetunnel back. Adding some intersections and few bigger cave areas could be nice too.

Then answer me this mate. What sort of idiot uses an OS where the Rename and Delete options are right next to each other in the right-click menu. :P

I don't see your point, it's a good place for it. All the most commonly used commands in a small space. Personally, I use shortcuts instead of that menu though.
Please don't use quotes for stuff that aren't quotes, like this

My intention was not to insult linux or it's users, instead I ment that people should use what they are familiar with most of the time, because you can break any OS if you aren't familiar with it.

This thread isn't about OS wars anyway.

-Nice to hear that :) Most players just say: SHIT MAP after playing it for 10 seconds! >_>
