That said, â€œtar xf $TARBALLâ€ is enough. It'll detect the compression method automatically. Then again, create a directory, enter that directory then unpack â€“ that way, you'll not accidentally overwrite anything.

If you want to check what's in the tarball, â€œtar tf $TARBALL | lessâ€.

â€¦ And if you expect double-click to extract, then either something is missing from your installation or you really do want Windows. Then again, not automatically extracting requires that you think about it a bit â€“ fails safe, if you will.

BTW, why is everywhere this and similar: "tar -zxvf file.tar.gz" (http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/unpacking- ... -gz-files/) and not â€œtar xf $TARBALLâ€ whose will solve all compression?

I am not windows fanatic, linux is good for you, kaotaja and other experts. Or for "dedicated" users (only for websurfing, videos and music). But not for common people or bfu.

No mod, just new map pk3. Happens only if you have alrdy another pk3 with same name.
