Heya Deconning @spl cancelling vote
This is a bit of an admin gripe.
Just finished playing a game 1hr20 nano.
Heya was human for the majority of the game. Towards the end he changed to aliens.
Heya was attacking the om and eggs everytime he spawned. Naturally we wanted to kickvote him. But everytime we started a vote @spl cancelled. So I had to keep T'king him just to stop him killing the base. Bit ridiculous no?

True; teamswitch was missed. I did notice words to the effect of “I've had enough of thisâ€, though.
Game finished at around 1:40am GMT today. Public votes were called to kick him; had they been team votes, I may well have handled that differently (for a start, I would have noticed that heyya had teamswitched).
Here follows the other sort of admin gripe…
USE TEAM VOTES WHERE APPROPRIATE!
Team votes are appropriate for decon and teamkill, attempted or successful.
Admin sees all team votes and, when spectating, sees all messages regarding construction, destruction and damage (so, on the human team, I'd not see damage to the overmind). Admin also sees which team called it; sometimes, this is a useful hint, and may result in a vote not being cancelled.
And yes, given signs of damage to the overmind by heyya, I'd definitely agree that a ban is warranted.

There's more than just this incident – I keep telling people to call team votes for that kind of thing and, be it by mistake or due to lack of thought or something, people keep on calling public votes…iain wrote:Ah ok, I thought I did call call a teamvote, thats my bad then.

ACTUALLY.... I just remembered I didnt actually call a kick vote in this as I didn't have enough votes left. Mind you, I normally call vote's by the GUI and it's fairly easy to click onto the wrong submenu without noticing. I imagine that that could happen alot.Spl@ wrote:There's more than just this incident – I keep telling people to call team votes for that kind of thing and, be it by mistake or due to lack of thought or something, people keep on calling public votes…iain wrote:Ah ok, I thought I did call call a teamvote, thats my bad then.
