HUDs
Anyone know some cool-looking HUDs for mac (Weed)? I want to try out a new look for my client
P.S. I have really old mac, so please make sure its 10.5.8 compatible! (If you can't then tell me anyway...)

I haven't really had the time to install and test the huds.
You know your base folder right? (the one with your account name on it along with an icon of a house)
Click that from there try Library>Application Support>Tremulous.
Drop it in there (NOT in the base folder). Then open tremulous, see if it works. If it doesn't, move it to base and then try again.
My trem folder has a lot of random crap in (lots of maps+failed aimbots -> iain) so I'm unsure how it originally looks for you. If it still doesn't work, try asking iain. If he can't help you (he normally can) try another hud :l

Superpie's HUD is nice. In fact I think it should be the default...

I believe I've found your solution:Weed wrote:i tried and it doesn't work /:
Okay so you need to unzip the file you downloaded.1.Installation/Upgrade
Delete any old ui and vm folders or pk3s.
Put the included files and folders in your base folder:
Linux: ~/.tremulous/base/
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Tremulous/base/
Windows 2000: C:/Program Files/Tremulous/Base/
Windows XP: C:/Documents and Settings/Application Data/Tremulous/base/
Windows Vista: C:/ProgramData/Microsoft/Windows/Start Menu/Programs/Tremulous/base/
Run Tremulous and open the console (press ~).
Type "/exec ui/oticz_install.cfg" and hit ENTER.
2.Uninstall
Run Tremulous and open the console.
Type "/exec ui/oticz_uninstall.cfg" and hit ENTER.
Delete ui folder and vm pk3s.
It should give you a folder. Rename it and then place it in the location indicated.
Then open the Tremulous client and type the command changed to fit your HUD.
Unless if you're installing the Oticz HUD, you will need to change the part where it says '/oticz' to whatever your HUD is named as.
Now, once that's all sorted you should *hopefully* get a fully working HUD.
Now in case you want to get rid of it, just follow the uninstall process (again, you'll need to personalize the code to your HUD).
Hope this helps. Any problems - just ask!
P.S. I've left all the other OS in there for future reference for other players - Your Welcome
P.P.S. After this post, I become a basilisk
Checks to make:
Did you put the unzipped folder in the right place? (base file in Library/Application Support/Tremulous)
Did you delete all the previous ui and vm folders/files?
Did you make sure the folder is called 'ui'?
Did you get the name of the file right?
Is there more than one .cfg file in the same folder?
Did you type the command wrong? (try re-typing it slowly)
Try it out with a different HUD. If that HUD works, you know that either you made a mistake with the first one, or it the HUD has some sort of problem.
If the other HUD doesn't work either then I can't help you much until after my exams are over :l
Lastly, send me a link to the website/place you downloaded it from. There might be some files missing.

Okay I downloaded the HUD from this website link:
http://ddos-tremulous.eu/projects/meisseli-hud/
Now, having seen the download, i think the you may need to take the folder named 'GPP-Meis' out of the ui folder and rename it to 'ui'.
Although I'm not sure what to do with the file named 'z_hudoptions.pk3', I'd say its best to move that to the base folder along with the ui folder you just made (NOT the one that was called ui before)
Now you'll have to change the command to '/exec ui/install.cfg'
